Thousands of Ukrainian people fled their country to save their lives and took refuge in Poland amid the Russian invasion. The Polish government also welcomed them on humanitarian grounds and made arrangements for their food and accommodation in the border town of Medyka. According to reports, on the first day of Russia's military attack, around 29,000 people came to Poland. This figure soared to more than 100,00 in the following days. Several pictures of refugees with their small kids are going viral on the internet. Julia, who had reunited with her husband in Poland, was living in a small town in western Ukraine with her two sons. While her husband works at a Skoda car factory in Prague, Czech Republic. After Russia's attack on Ukraine, the 26-year-old Julia decided to go to her husband's place. Julia's father and brother drove her to the border area. She had to walk the last 20 km with her two sons to Poland. Now, finally, she reunited with her husband, who came to pick her up. "The journey was difficult and dangerous, but now we are finally safe. What will happen in the future? I don't know," said Julia, who does not want to give her full name. Likewise, Yryna, another Ukrainian, crossed the border and now planning to go to her cousin's home with her three children. She left almost everything at her home in Truskavet, a city in Ukraine's Lviv Oblast near the border. "It's not about my life, but I have three kids," she said, before bursting into tears.
