The story is set in Chanderi, Madhya Pradesh. The movie 'Stree' is based on Nale Ba that went viral in Karnataka in the 1990s. The movie features Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao in prominent roles. Newton fame Pankaj Tripathi is palying the role of Rudra, whereas Ayushmann Khurrana's younger brother Aparshakti Khurana is playing the role of Bittu. The movie also stars other actors like Vijay Raaz, Abhishek Banerjee and Aakash Dabhade. Nale Ba was an urban legend is about a witch that knock the door at night, and whoever opens the door, they die. In Kannada 'Nale Ba' means come tomorrow.
