Katrina Kaif, who has managed to carve a niche for herself in the Bollywood industry, has come a long way. Born on July 16, 1983, in Hong Kong, Katrina began her career as a fashion model. One of the B-Town’s highest-paid actresses, Katrina Kaif’s real name is Katrina Turquotte. Katrina, who is half-British and half-Indian, has seven siblings. She was home-schooled by her mother with the help of correspondence courses. After trying her hands at modelling, she made her Bollywood debut with ‘Boom’ in 2003. Not many know that Katrina, who has been living in India for more than a decade, works here on an employment visa. Blessed with great looks, Katrina is the first Bollywood actress to have a Barbie doll modelled on her. The actress made headlines after reports of her dating Salman Khan and Ranbir Kapoor went viral. Later, she decided to move on and focus on her work. Recalling her childhood days, Katrina once said in an interview, “I was quite a dreamer as a child, and very musical. I used to love watching musicals (films) and would imagine a lot of stories in my head. I think I used to live in my own wonder world.” She added, “I had quite an imaginary mind. Probably that is why I become an actress. I was not so much into comic books and all. Rather I used to watch 'Beauty and the Beast', 'Mary Poppins', 'The Sound of Music'. I loved watching them again and again.”
