Surekha Sikri passes away: Pictures of the National Award-winning actress who died following cardiac arrest

Veteran actor Surekha Sikri passes away on July 16, 2021 following a cardiac arrest. In a statement shared with the media, her agent said the actor had been suffering from complications arising from a second brain stroke.

Surekha Sikri, who won the National Award for 'Badhaai Ho' in the Best Supporting Actress category, during the 66th National Awards held in Delhi.

The actor's agent Vivek Sidhwani said, “Three-time national award winning actress, Surekha Sikri has passed away following a cardiac arrest earlier this morning at the age of 75. She had been suffering from complications arising from a second brain stroke.”

Sikri had suffered a brain stroke in September 2020 and was discharged after a few days.

The three-time National Award-winning actress is best known for her performances in 'Tamas', 'Mammo', 'Salim Langde Pe Mat Ro', 'Zubeidaa', 'Badhaai Ho' and daily soap 'Balika Vadhu'.

Sikri was last seen in an anthology in 2020 directed by Zoya Akhtar.
