Satish Kaushik: An impeccable comedian of Bollywood

Satish Kaushik, who is director, producer and actor, turned 65 on April 13, 2021. He rose to fame in Bollywood with his role as 'Calendar' in 'Mr. India'. Kaushik's role as 'Pappu Pager' in 'Deewana Masana' and as 'Chanu Ahmedd' in Sarah Gavron's British film 'Brick Lane' also garnered appreciation from audience. Satish Kaushik won the Filmfare Best Comedian Award in 1990 for Ram Lakhan and in 1997 for 'Saajan Chale Sasural'. Satish Kaushik began his career from theatre and his noted role was that of "Willy Loman" in the play, 'Salesman Ramlal', an adaptation of Arthur Miller's 'Death of a Salesman'. He is not only good at acting as he wrote dialogues for Kundan Shah's comedy classic 'Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron'. He directed Salman Khan starrer hit movie 'Tere Naam'. While talking to a news website, Satish Kaushik told "This is my second consecutive lockdown birthday. Last year being at home I celebrated virtually with friends Anil Kapoor and Anupam Kher. It was fun to celebrate in an unique manner which was an invention in the grim period of Corona."
