Sanjay Dutt and Suniel Shetty help Mumbai’s dabbawalas amid Covid-19 outbreak

Due to the Coronavirus outbreak, lockdown is imposed all across the country. Amid lockdown, neither the shops have fully opened nor the offices. The Dabbawalas in Mumbai are facing the brunt of the lockdown as there is no source of income left for them. In such a situation, the livelihood of the Dabbawalas of Mumbai is in danger. But Bollywood actors Sanjay Dutt and Sunil Shetty have come forward to help Dabbawalas, who are called the pride of Mumbai. The initiative is in association with Maharashtra Minister Aslam Sheikh. According to a report, Sanjay Dutt, Sunil Shetty and Aslam Sheikh are providing food to the affected families of Dabbawalas. Sunil Shetty said, "This initiative has been done by Aslam Bhai and Sanju, I have no hesitation in joining hands with them. Prema Cha Dabba is even more beautiful when everyone comes together." Sunil Shetty further added that they have already sent a truck full of food to Pune where these dabbawalas have camped themselves. Reportedly, 800 kits of pulses, rice, sugar, flour and oil have been sent to Khed and Malwal. An NGO called Save the Children India has been actively working in these areas. "NGO staff is working at the grassroots level. We have a three-month plan to work in this place. This will benefit 5000 families," said Suniel Shetty. (All photos: Instagram)
