Post Sushant Singh Rajput's demise, celebrities open up about nepotism

Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone, who is one of the most versatile actors in Bollywood, opened up about nepotism by saying that the initial journey is slightly easier for the star kids.

Akshay Kumar, one of the most hard-working and self-made actors of Bollywood, expressed his anger over nepotism and said that he encourages his son to work hard for the things he aspires to achieve and never gives his kids any advantage of being his children.

Taapsee Pannu, who is known for her strong statements, also opened up about her experiences and struggles, like not being chosen for a role just because she was not associated with someone within the industry.

Vidyut Jammwal, who is popular for his stunts and martial arts, has also frowned upon the practice in the recent past and wrote, "A BIG announcement for sure!! 7 films scheduled for release but only 5 are deemed worthy of representation. 2 films, receive no invitation or intimation. It’s a long road ahead. THE CYCLE CONTINUES."

'Hate Story 2' actress Surveen Chawla disclosed an incident where she was dropped for a film for a star kid. She also expressed that there is a need for filmmakers to widen their thoughts and recognize real talent.

Sushant Singh Rajput addressed the issue of nepotism, by saying that it's everywhere and not just in Bollywood and there's nothing one can do about it. The problem, however, arises when the right talent is deliberately denied an opportunity.

Swara Bhaskar, another extremely vocal and opinionated actress, has spoken about nepotism by stating that even though her personal experience has not been nepotistic in Bollywood, the concept very much exists.

Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan has claimed that he has been a victim of nepotism as well and there have been instances in his career where someone's father called up a filmmaker to ask him not to cast Saif. However, this statement has seen a lot of backlash by netizens, who started trolling the actor.

When asked about her experience with nepotism in Bollywood, Sushmita Sen replied by saying that she survived by focusing on her audience and will continue to do so as long as people want to see her.

Siddhant Chaturvedi, who won a lot of hearts as 'MC Sher' in 'Gully Boy', in an interview with Ananya Panday had a rather savage remark to her comment on nepotism; that where an outsider's dream ends, the star kid's struggle begins.
